support cancer patients

Honoring Cancer Patients Through Community Support

The B.E. Resilient Foundation exists to honor the lived experience of people navigating cancer — the uncertainty, the exhaustion, the quiet bravery, and the moments of tenderness that often go unseen.

Inspired by Brooke Elizabeth’s journey, our work is currently focused on providing Brooke Boxes: thoughtfully curated care packages offered at no cost to cancer patients, as a tangible reminder that they are not facing this alone. These boxes are made possible entirely through community donations, which allow us to give freely, without expectation or burden.

As the Foundation grows, additional forms of support — including small, need-based grants — may be offered when funding allows. For now, our primary commitment is simple and clear: to support cancer patients with care, dignity, and human connection.

Eligibility

Nominees must be individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment or navigating the active realities of a cancer diagnosis.

Nominees must live within Spokane (WA) or the greater Inland Northwest, including nearby communities in northern Idaho such as Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, and surrounding areas.

If you are unsure whether someone qualifies, we encourage you to reach out and ask.

Who Can Nominate

  • You must personally know the person you are nominating.
  • You should have firsthand knowledge of their situation and be able to speak honestly about their experience.
  • Nominators must provide accurate contact information for both themselves and the nominee.
  • You may not nominate yourself or someone who lives in your immediate household.

Ineligible Nominations

  • Self-nominations
  • Immediate family or household members of the nominator (this applies for mini-grant applications only; Brooke Boxes may be nominated for anyone)
  • Businesses, organizations, or groups
  • Incomplete submissions or nominations lacking sufficient context

How the Process Works

  1. Complete the online nomination form in full.
  2. Share the nominee’s story — not to prove worthiness, but to help us understand who they are and what they are carrying.
  3. Nominations are reviewed by the B.E. Resilient Foundation with care and intention.
  4. Selected recipients will be contacted directly.

Availability of support is dependent on donated funds. While we wish we could say yes to every nomination, we commit to handling each one with respect and gratitude.

Our Promise

Every nomination shared with us matters.

Each story reinforces why this Foundation exists — to support cancer patients, to offer comfort without conditions, and to remind people that they are seen in moments that can feel isolating.

Whether or not a nomination results in immediate support, your participation helps build a community rooted in compassion, remembrance, and resilience.

A vibrant collage of diverse people smiling and enjoying life outdoors.
